About Us

Meet the Team

Real educators who've walked this road with families just like yours.

Founder & Lead Advocate

Hi, I'm Lauren Garcia — I've spent 20 years in special education classrooms.

I taught special education for two decades before starting this practice. I've written hundreds of IEPs, and as a parent of a child who has an IEP myself, I've truly sat on both sides of the table — as the educator writing the plan and as the mom advocating for her own child. I know exactly how overwhelming the process can feel for parents. My goal is simple: make sure you understand what's happening, feel confident speaking up, and know that your child's needs are truly being met.

  • 👪 Parent of a child with an IEP — I've been on both sides of the table
  • ❤️ Kid-focused, parent-friendly, always in your corner
Co-Consultant & Advocate

Hi, I'm Helen Collins — 15 years teaching, 8 years as a school administrator.

I've spent my career on every side of the school building — in the classroom and in the administration office — supporting students and the families who advocate for them. That mix of experience means I understand not just what a strong IEP looks like, but how schools actually make decisions behind the scenes. I bring a caring, empathetic approach to every family I work with, because I know how personal this process is.

Common Questions

Do you attend IEP meetings in person?

Right now all sessions and meetings are held virtually by video or phone, so I can support families anywhere.

Are you an attorney?

No — I'm an educational consultant and advocate, not a lawyer, and this isn't legal advice or representation. For legal matters, I can help point you toward education attorneys when needed.

What if I need to reschedule?

Life happens! Use the link in your confirmation email to pick a new time — just try to give at least 24 hours' notice.

I can't afford a session right now — can you still help?

Yes. Head to the Financial Assistance section above and join our community support for children who have IEPs — you're welcome there no matter what.
